It’s hot late in the year in the First District. So hot, a field of wild sunflowers is still in bloom. The weather is just about as hot as the 2006 Congressional race. A seat in the Capital representing this mostly agricultural district is up for grabs, and with it, possibly the control of the House of Representatives. Molly is a small town gal forced to fend for her family while husband, Bobby is off to war. Bobby is finally coming home, but he has been seriously wounded, and mentally damaged. His homecoming lands in the middle of the election. Both sides see Molly and Bobby as “in play” as political fodder. Molly is keen to shield her husband from the pressures of a campaign, however, as Bobby’s condition worsens, and Molly’s desperation grows, her loyalties are swayed by an attractive young and idealistic candidate.
